Iran: more July 21, 2012



Imprisoned studentactivist and former vice secretary of Tehran’s Tahkim Vahdat (student alumni organization) and the Islamic Student Association at the Tarbiat Moalem University Shabnam Madadzadeh wrote a letter about the transfer of two female political prisoners from Evin prison to Gharchak prison in Varamin.
She has been sentenced to 5 years in prison and is currently held in Evin prison.
Her brother Farzad Madadzadeh, is also sentenced to five years in jail. He is currently held incommunicado in Rajai Shahr ‘Gohardasht’ prison.

New York police says that Iranian revolutionary guards and their proxies so far this year are involved in at least nine plots on Israelian or jewish organizations.
Reports from intelligence analysts for the New York Police Department (NYPD) say three plots were foiled in January, three in February and another three since late June.Iran repeatedly denied supporting militant attacks abroad.

Political prisoner Afshin Yavari, who is imprisoned in Rejaei-Shahr prison (in Gohardasht), was hospitalized after suffering a nervous breakdown.
Reports claim this is the result of not receiving his medication. The infirmery in Rajaei Shahrprison long ago stopped supplying many prisoners with critical medications.

The Iranian government already privatized 17 of its 45 power plants and will transfer 28 more plants with an estimated value of $11.4 billion , by the end of the current Iranian calendaryear.
The price for 18 of the plants have been set and will be offered in the form of shares or assets. The value of 10 more stations is being evaluated and will be announced by the end of the summer.
