A Tehran court has sentenced 4 suspects in the bankingscandal to death.
IRNA reported that 39 persons were sentenced.
Two suspects were sentenced to life in prison while the remaining received jail sentences of 25 years or less after also being found guilty of corruption.

During the month of ramadan special modestysquads of the police will hand a rose to women who dress modest and  to the islamic clothing rules.

In a broadcast on statetelevision said President Ahmadinejad to a group of oilofficials that the economical sanctions to Iran's oilsector are ridiculous . He said that only "politically retarded" governments would use badly needed oil as a tool of "political warfare" in opposition to Iran's nuclear program.

American members of parliament reached an agreement on a new round of economical sanctions to stop Iran's suspected push for nuclear weapons.
The sanctions would target Iran's energy, shipping and insurance sectors.
July 30 a bill is filed which has to be accepted before the Congres goes on its Augustrecess.

Iran: following July 30, 2012


Groups of men and women gathered Sunday near the patliament to protest the cuts in subsidies and loose of their workplaces due to economical sanctions and governmental decisions.

A member of parliament said that Iran may face a shortage in wheat for bakeries because large parts of this year’s harvest has been sold to livestock farmers.
Wheat farmers have been forced to sell their harvest to livestock farmers in order to make up for their expenses.
The government only pays 420 touman a kilo, while each kilo costs wheatfarmers 500 toumans.The country also suffers a lack of rain.

Crude oil imports in Japan rose with 60% from May.
This is because refiners ramped up loadings before a halt in oil flows this month due to the imposition of sanctions on the Middle Eastern country.
Meanwhile Ayatollah Khamenei said that crude oilsales in  the country   are a trap and it was important that the country reaches a point where it could easily shut down its oil wells.

Iran: teach July 29 2012


This autumn 2 new courses for how to be a prison warden will be started at two higher educational colleges. This coincides the abolition of several social science degrees at prominent institutions.
According to the head of Iran's prisons there are 220.000 prisoners nationwide.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has ordered a halt to the expansion of a range of social sciences degrees, including women’s studies, human rights and law, after declaring them “founded on materialism” hostile to Islam.
By contrast, the jail warden courses – offered under the title “Judiciary Aid Work” – have the highest official blessing after senior prison officials spent three years preparing them.

According to Farhad Denshjoo, the chancellor of one of Iran’s Free Islamic Universities, 80% of the lecturers at these private educational establishments will be vetted by student members of the Basij militia. He called on them to spend the next three months investigating appointees’ backgrounds and passing the information on to the personnel department.
The revolutionary guard and the bassij militias are increasingly involved in the social and political life of the country.

It is reported that the health of political prisoner Esmaeil Barzegari, who is in hospital is getting worse. Barzegari who has launched a hunger strike eight times, was arrested in April 2011 in Tabriz and was sentenced to 7½ years in prison on charges of acting against national security.
Till now each time he was in hungerstrike, him was promised a review but that has not occurred as of yet.

Iran: jailed July 28, 2012



Thursday the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran said that at least 28 Kurds were sentenced to death and are in prisons of Sanandaj, Urmia, Semnan, Rajaei Shahr and Saqqez.
In seventeen cases the deathsentence was upheld.
Habibollah Latifi, Rashid Akhkandi, Mostafa Salimi, Shirko Moarefi, Habibollah Golparipour, Zanyar Moradi and Loghman Moradi are among these 17,
ICHRI claims that 10 of these have been linked to Salafist groups.
The cases of 11 other prisoners, Samko Khorshidi, Sirvan Nejadi, Ebrahim Isapour, Rouzgar (Habib) Afshari, Ali Afshari, Houshang Rezaei, Reza Esmaili, Behrouz Alkhani, Seyed Sami Hosseini and Seyed Jamal Mohammad and Bakhtiar Memari. are still in the appeal phase.

Sixteen Iranian members of parliament, conservatives and pro reformists urged the minister of justice to “speed up” the 2009 case involving detainees at the Kahrizak Detention Centre who were reportedly tortured and murdered.
In 2009 former Tehran prosecutor Saeed Mortazavi along with 2 judges were quickly removed when a a parliamentary probe found that the officials in charge of transferring prisoners to the notorious prison must have known they would be subjected to torture.

Newsagency Fars reported that the Deputy Head of Iranian Environmental Protection Department, said on Monday that if nothing changes, in the near future this will create problems also in the security sphere.
The area of Lake Urmia is about 6000 square kilometres. By the dehydration of more then onethird of the lake, the saltconcentration is extremely high, which is disastrous, not only for flora and fauna, but also for drinkwaterresources.

F-Secure Security Labs wrote that an Iranian scientist who works for Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) reported that probably a cyberworm in Natanz and Qom affected computers with “some music playing randomly” at high volumes on workstations during the night.

In Iran has been announced that suspects had been arrested in connection with the July 2011 killing of a nuclear scientist. The minister of intelligence said this on Sunday on the anniversary of the death of one of the victims. He gave no further details.

The men, named Eidi Sh. , 55, convicted for participating in 148 kilos and 850 grams of opium, Malang S.A., 54 convicted for possession of 10,435 grams of crack, Teymor M. Gh, 49, convicted for possession of 147 kilograms and 850 grams of opium.

Noorollah Qabitizade48 a converted Christian has been released on July 17th from Karoonprison in Ahwaz.
He had been arrested along with 10 others on Christmas Eve 2010 in Dezful.
He had been tortured during interrogations and him was told that he was going to be sentenced to death.

Imprisoned studentactivist and former vice secretary of Tehran’s Tahkim Vahdat (student alumni organization) and the Islamic Student Association at the Tarbiat Moalem University Shabnam Madadzadeh wrote a letter about the transfer of two female political prisoners from Evin prison to Gharchak prison in Varamin.
She has been sentenced to 5 years in prison and is currently held in Evin prison.
Her brother Farzad Madadzadeh, is also sentenced to five years in jail. He is currently held incommunicado in Rajai Shahr ‘Gohardasht’ prison.

New York police says that Iranian revolutionary guards and their proxies so far this year are involved in at least nine plots on Israelian or jewish organizations.

The Iranian government already privatized 17 of its 45 power plants and will transfer 28 more plants with an estimated value of $11.4 billion , by the end of the current Iranian calendaryear.

The humanrightscommittee of studentorganization Tahkim-e Vahdat issued a second report to the UN’s special rapporteur on human rights for Iran..
This 2nd report examines student rights violations in the past nine months.
Among other things it says that while some jailed student activists have been released after serving out their sentences, 50 students remain behind bars.
